Dr. Nidhi Mishra
Associate Professor,HOD Applied Psychology GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences Visakhapatnam
Dr. Nidhi Mishra is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Applied Psychology at GITAM (Deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam. She holds a PhD in Geropsychology from the University of Allahabad. She is an editorial board member of the European Journal of Mental Health and part of the international advisory team of the Miroir Foundation, Canada. Her expertise in psycho-social gerontology has earned her advisory roles with Life Circle Health Services, Hyderabad, and A1 Snehanjali, Mumbai.
Dr. Mishra has been actively involved in national and international research projects addressing diverse psycho-social issues, including health and well-being, environmental concerns, identity and collective experiences, the lived realities of marginalized groups, ageing, and inclusive education. She has extensive experience in psycho-social gerontology, bridging academic research and social impact.
Notably, Dr. Mishra contributed to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) project on building a knowledge base on ageing in India. In 2013, she represented India at the United Nations International Programme on Policy Formulation, Planning, Implementation, and Monitoring of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing held in Malta. Additionally, she founded and managed Senior Express, an online initiative dedicated to promoting active ageing in India.


Dr Pratiba Pereira

Dr. Pratibha Pereira is a distinguished medical professional with over 30 years of experience in the field of geriatrics. She graduated from IGNOU and INIA Malta with a Master of Doctorate in Medicine and a Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine (PGDGM). Currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Geriatrics and Clinical Research at JSS Medical College (JSSAHER), she has made substantial contributions to elderly care in India. In addition to developing geriatric units at Kasturba Medical College (KMC) in Mangalore and comprehensive geriatric clinics, Dr. Pereira has played a significant role in national programs including the C20 (G20) protocols for senior care. She has assisted in the development of an NCD Cell handbook and trained primary healthcare physicians and nurses. Among her accomplishments are the Double Helical Award for geriatric services, the Distinguished Alumni Award, and the API Scientist Award in Tropical Medicine. Her main areas of interest include mobility, frailty, and medication management in the elderly, and she has over 50 publications in national and international journals. Additionally, she is acknowledged for her contributions to "Geronto Pharmacy,".
Dr Thang Leng Leng

"Linking generations - An intergenerational approach to aging well"
Leng Leng THANG is socio-cultural anthropologist and associate professor with the Department of Japanese Studies, National University of Singapore. Her research interests focus around aging-related issues including intergenerational programs and relationships, active aging, retirement migration and age-friendly community.
She publishes widely on these topics in Asian context, especially relating to Japan and Singapore. She is co-lead of the workstream on purposeful aging in the Health District@Queenstown, a joint initiative of the National University of Singapore, National University Health System and Housing Development Board of Singapore. She is President of Singapore Gerontological Society and also active in community services in Singapore.


Dr. (Prof.) Veer Bahadur Singh

Dr. Veer Bahadur Singh, a distinguished professor of internal medicine with a specialization in geriatric medicine. Holding a prestigious FRCP from London and a diploma in geriatric medicine, Dr. Singh has further enhanced his expertise through a WHO fellowship in aging at Khon khean University, Thailand, and advanced training at the International Institute on Aging in Malta, UNO and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi
With a remarkable career spanning multiple leadership roles, Dr. Singh has served as the Principal and Controller of two esteemed Government medical colleges in India for over seven years. He has also held key academic and adminstrative positions, including Dean at Rajasthan University of Health Sciences in Jaipur and also worked as Superintendent, Head of the Department of Medicine and Geriatrics.
Dr. Singh is a renowned expert in his field, having delivered guest lectures at numerous national and international conferences, including the International Psychogeriatric Association and the Geriatric Society of India. He has chaired sessions at various conferences globally and has published over 100 research papers in reputable national and international journals.
With his vast experience and expertise, Dr. Singh continues to make significant contributions to the field of geriatric medicine, inspiring future generations of healthcare professionals and advancing the care of older adults.

Shannon Ang is Assistant Professor of Sociology and Deputy Director of the Centre for the Study of Social Inequality at the School of Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests are located at the intersection of social connectedness and societal change. This includes how social connections and/or social relationships (e.g., social participation, social support, social capital, etc.) shape the well-being of individuals, such as their physical and mental health, and explore how these social connections and their associations with well-being change over time (e.g., age-period-cohort patterns).
